The championship is notoriously difficult to predict, it chucks up loads of surprises every year, I mean who would've thought Norwich and Sheff U would've gone up automatically last season or Leeds finish 3rd? Villa were floundering in the bottom half of the table before Christmas and went on a crazy run into the play offs. Of the relegated teams, Ipswich, Bolton and Rotherham you could say with all due respect that there was no real shock there.
This season I think we'll probably see more surprises so with a week till we get underway this is how I think the Championship table will look next May
1 WBA
2 Leeds
----------------
3 Cardiff
4 Bristol city
5 Stoke
6 Forest
-------------------
7 Fulham
8 Middlesbrough
9 Brentford
10 Derby
11 Wednesday
12 Huddersfield
13 Preston
14 Reading
15 Barnsley
16 Blackburn
17 Swansea
18 QPR
19 Luton
20 Hull
21 Wigan
--------------------
22 Birmingham
23 Charlton
24 Millwall
If anyone can be arsed writing em all darn and mekkin the predictions then we could have a competition to see who was closest with their predictions in May. Tha gets a point for each successful placing. If there's a tie of scores when the final table is settled in May then the tie break question is how many goals will Barnsley score this season? Who ever gets closest to predicting how many we score then wins 1st prize
My guess is Barnsley will score 67goals.
As I say, it's only a bit o fun and summat to look back on and ev a laugh abart at end of season. With this division chucking up surprises year after year, owt could happen so it'll be interesting to hear other posters thoughts. Cheers guys
