It’s early days, but sometimes I see something in a player that makes me think he has a particular skill that makes him stand out a bit and I have been impressed by how cleanly Christopher Long strikes the ball. He isn’t a “target man” centre but he is mobile and fairly fast and it is his ball striking that looks that it may just bring him some success at Motherwell (I hope!).
He reminded me a bit of Scott McDonald yesterday. I also thought Scott looked a bit more comfortable out wide rather than with the pressure of leading the line.
However, just as I wasn't going to pan them for losing to Celtic, praise for yesterday has to be tempered by the fact Accies absolutely chucked us the points. I seriously doubt we'll get an easier win all season.
Will be curious to see what the XI is next week. Never change a winning team or play your best team?
