VAR should go one step further

The season has only just started and already I am not convinced it is the best way forward. I think it will be quite a while before it wins me over. So far I have watched games from various levels and it seems to me that because players are being encouraged to win penalties by their managers at any time they are in the box, they have nothing to lose by trying it on in front of the referee. I believe that VAR should look into it in a bit more detail by deciding there and then if the player in question has dived in the build up. If he has been adjudged to have done so, the referee should then bring out the yellow card. This would then stop players falling over in an effort to gain an unfair advantage and send a warning out to everyone else, that this will not be tolerated in any situation.
Players can do what they like with no repercussions and that cannot be right. Does anyone have any similar thoughts on this . It is so simple , but will it ever happen?

Yes I did see it. It’s just another in the many that I have noticed. We all know which way the game is going and it’s not for the better. Technology does now necessarily make the game better. Take the incident in the Newcastle penalty area yesterday afternoon.Since when can you lie down in front of an opponent ,bring him down in the process and not be penalised ? I could not believe what I was looking at.I am convinced that decisions will go for and against the Clarets over the next 8 months, but I suspect more than one will be the wrong decision.

Its all about different opinions, I watched the Sky Burnley game and the pundits on their said it was a Wolves pen, I watched it on MOTD and the pundits on their said the Wolves player made a meal of it, IMO with that incident the Wolves player may have been touched but Pieters did not go out of his way to foul him and there player was not in a position to do any damage, so it should not have been given.

I watched Man Utd v Palace, Man U's James was challenged outside the box and he was fouled but the Ref said that he'd dived, when the challenge went in James grabbed his knee like his knee cap had burst out and his face was contorted like he'd never had such pain before, when he noticed the Ref gave the free kick against him he got up and forgot about his play acting, he was a pathetic spectacle, these antics are spoiling our game.

Also with the Wolves game I saw someone clumsily challenge Mee, nothing was given but when they both got up Mee obviously did not like the challenge so he pushed him violently down to the ground with both hands on his chest, yet nothing was said or done.

The problem with all of Var at the minute is that it’s still a human opinion as stated by you above the MOTD team think it’s not a pen yet Var studio think it is , I’m of the opinion it will improve but it’s going to take time and few decisions right and wrong before it does.
The other way to maybe look t it is use Var for offsides because that we know works and leave the rest to the referee with the option of him requesting Var if he’s un sure about a decision.

If VAR cannot recognise the foul on Kane to be a penalty, I really fail to see the point of it. When you look at the penalty we conceded and then look at the Kane incident what possible justification is there for VAR?

FIFA seem hellbent on ruining the beautiful game and they are slowly achieving it.

Can’t answer that BT because as we said it’s still a human opinion, just like us on here now,
That’s why I think it’s odd in the situations we are getting that what one man thinks is a penalty another thinks is soft - I read some of the wolves tweets and they were split on ours so
E said it definitely was others say they didn’t think so.

It would make players and managers think again about diving if beside a yellow card being shown, a penalty was awarded to the other team.

Referees can't even agree on what constitutes a dive, unless it's against Burnley...
