The Wigan game and Christmas!
That was truly awful.
Horrible about Dack's injury, but - before that - he had the worst hour I have ever seen him play.
The other three forward players were almost equally dire in the first half, but Rothwell and Graham did show a bit more gumption in the second.
In that first period, only Evans and Travis could actually find a Rovers player with a pass.
The defenders did ok in terms of defending but their distribution was also dreadful.
To be fair to Wigan, they played quite well and their "marking" (in two senses!) made it difficult for us, but that's no excuse really.
Was it complacency? Lord knows, Mowbray had warned them about that, but it's difficult to work out what's going on in players' heads sometimes. Dack, in particular, behaved as if all he had to do was turn up.
Let's hope the Boxing Day game helps us forget the Wigan one.
Anyway, a safe, happy and peaceful Christmas to all the regulars.
(And, Saxo, I hope 2020 is a better year for you).
I've written a Christmas show that the family adults are going to perform for all the kids this evening.
I'm Santa and my wife is Rudolph. It involves a lot of jokes about "Westies" (those who live in West Auckland). Think "Es*** and shell-suits", and you'll get the idea.
It should be lots of fun. Alcohol will be involved.
??? Can I really not name a particular county because of its last three letters?!
