A difficult situation getting to work in Central London. My son is an Electrician and often travels to work in the city. He stays in a hotel/Travel Lodge on the outskirts. There is never anywhere to park on site so he drives his van in, unloads his tools, which consists of meters, drills, spanners and screwdrivers etc.
He leaves his apprentice to guard them while he has to drive the van back to the accommodation, before returning to the site on public transport. At the end of the day this process is done in reverse. He tries not to accept work in the City now because of the hassle and the number of tools that he has had stolen. A £600 quid drill went missing one day while his back was turned.
Running less buses or Tube trains just does not make sense.
Building sites and suppliers along with trades people have been mandatorily closed over here since Midnight last night. Simply just tell construction to stop. Plumbers/electricians etc, emergency call outs only.Quote:
