Starmer

Isn't it refreshing to have a proper Leader of the opposition, in contrast to the last 5 years of Labour leadership.

Even if you're a die hard Tory, you must agree its better for the country to have proper scrutiny on Government decisions.

Starmer, with his history of being an excellent barrister, will forensically cross examine the Tories in Parliament and he's already doing a far better job than Corbyn ever did in my opinion.

I totally agree 123 and made this point on an earlier post on here.

I think that the Tories will have a real fight on their hands at the next election with Starmer in charge. I know others point to his age but the party in power WILL take the flack for all the problems that exist post Covid. For a clever and thoughtful leader this will present an ideal opportunity when the time comes.

Watch out Boris.

The big danger is that we politicise a situation that we shouldn't be doing. Yes, I criticised Boris over the new implementations on another thread but it was not a political comment but a disagreement on what he was doing. I agree that Starmer is a vast improvement on the 'muppets' in the previous Labour Party and as has been previously stated, it is much better to have a solid opposition. However, all parties must work together in order to defeat this virus.

I don't think Starmer was a very good DPP but, I don't dislike him and think he's conducting himself pretty well at the moment. I think to be a credible opponent (which I hope he is) he/the majority of Labour members need to ditch this Momentum/North London hard socialist rabble for the country to start listening again but, with what's going on that's further down the line.

I don't understand the fuss about Starmer in all honesty.

Made a sound start but way too early to make a true judgement. Classic case of anyone looking Good compared to what went before.

I like him, clever, skillful and comes across well - however the economic situation for many years makes sailing the good ship Britain an impossible task for whoever is in power.
