A new director

United have appointed a new director, the first female. She is a finance chief somewhere, and has a litany of posh appointments behind her.

None of which counts for jot. Im sure if I got to know her it would be a case of god help us all.

More to the point Jenny, have you got a purse tucked away in the sofa? If so nows the time to raid it. So the football side can waste it on another time waster from Hartlepool.

Or another drop in for mental health assesments, or education packs, or bike rides to Dresden or whatever. The last thing I expect you to do is actually change things, nobody can.

Mind you Paul Barry could play for England, or any recent director, if there was a tourney for slumber. Jenny, if you need your hair done, or want to play poker, or get your eyebrows done, im sure the club will see you ok. And there will be plenty of time for it.

Why bother yourself with finance, nobody has for years. Why you?

Ask George, how he handled money. Don't do what he did, people are wise too that one.
