For those not quite sure where this was, the boat yard was roughly where the old Tesco was, so more Rotherham centre than Masborough.
Some say kempo was the chief boat builder.
I think it’s because Forge Lane faded into disuse as buildings like Tesco were built there. The footpath past Tesco from Bridge Street went between Tesco and the river, Forge Lane was on the other side between Tesco and the canal, so not a major thoroughfare
Lots of children died in local mining disasters as well, mainly boys but some girls too. That "white privilege" eh?
