According to OS approx 3000 initially from October. Season ticket holders have priority. Temporary season tickets to be issued with allocated seating. Plus further restrictions to be announced. Household groups can sit together, thus the more household groups there are, the higher the attendance allowed.
Find it difficult to understand why season ticket holders plus supporters should not be allowed to attend from the very first game. would have thought that 4000 could be acceoomodated and still conform to social distancing regulations. Of course conditions should be applied, no away supporters, face masks mandatory, bars/snack bars to remain closed, and all 4 sections of the ground to be used.
Personally I feel that the EFL is offering very little support to Championship, League1, and league2 clubs. They should be fighting for their cause and future, and I have seen no evidence of this in the media. A few months ago I sent an enail to EFL suggesting the above proposals. Within a few days got reply thanking me for the email and my proposals, but they had everything in control and knew what was required blah blah. In a carefully worded way they told me they were perfectly capable of handling this situation and required no assistance.
I don’t think the restrictions around the start date for crowds has anything to do with the EFL and everything to do with the (ever changing!) government guidelines. I would suspect 3000 would be the max at Gresty Road and wouldn’t be surprised if all the ground isn’t open (Railway End) as it will still require stewarding, turnstile operators etc and might not be viable. I’m more concerned about having fans on every row and coughing over me, mask or not. Can’t see how the ground will open unless it’s every other row and alternate seats occupied (other than the households thing).
Whatever they do, as a season ticket holder I can’t wait, whatever the restrictions.
Have to disagree until you can point out to me who other than the EFL should have been xonstantly lobbying the government for the return of spectators from day 1 of the new season. For me the EFL needs a clear out of their current officials. Every decision they make seems to be the easiest option.
We are talking about the future of many clubs and their financial problems and what is the EFL doing. They are about as much use as the FA officials.
I think the future of individual people’s health is more important than football clubs.
I fully agree that the EFL needs a clear out of senior officials and the FA can remove their imbecilic chairman - Greg Clarke.
Having got that off my chest, I do agree with AstonAlex that permission to admit spectators is definitely the prerogative of the current Government whether or not Rick Parry and Co. have lobbied behind the scenes (seen nothing in the media from them - presumably too busy punishing clubs on an unequal basis). I will admit that the Government's re-opening policy has been all over the place - e.g. pubs open but not safe for all children to go to school - and the latest word from useless Boris is that all restrictions may be lifted early in December.
Of course the health of individuals should always be the priority. That is why I suggested strict safety measures should apply. What for me beggars belief is that pubs have been allowed to open (where social distancing is virtually impossible), but outdoor events like football and other sports cannot be attended.Quote:

The government are now allowing fans at Step 7 and below, so if we want some live football then we can always show support at Nantwich Town for a week or two.
Or Abbey Hey (Droylsden have gone under 😟) in my case🙂
