Buying players relatively cheaply and selling them expensively is something every club would do if they could. And obviously if it was easy they would.
Exeter's track record is quite incredible for a small, fan owned club. Watched Ampadu play for Wales last night and now this. They also sold Matt Grimes to Swansea a couple of years back for £1m+. I think all three are born and bred in Exeter.
Brentford in the last 6 seasons have spent £7.8 million on transfers and have made £83 million back. That’s phenomenal especially for a club, that many would argue are a ‘smaller club’ than Notts. This shows if you believe in the project, it can work massively.Quote:

In their situation tho Villa need to gamble. Their strikers scored 7 goals between them last season. Also I believe it's the same manager who signed him for Brentford.
Brentford's wheeler-dealing has been phenomenal tho. Both them and Exeter are very well run clubs. Hopefully we're finally on something like the same track, albeit quite far behind both.
