In my time watching the Reds the clubs had 3 owners P. Doyle,P.Cryne and Media Pacific.
I know the views on here of the current owners but I'd like to know what the views were of the previous owners and how they were seen on Tykes Mad.

Well Doyle did save the club from the administrators and we survived but it seemed to me he didn't have the kind of finance he needed to really get us out of the shyte .
He had the totally wrong character to be running a football club and just couldn't take any kind of criticism without wanting to either fight you or take you to court for slander .
Cryne stabilised the club's finances and brought some much needed capital in to the club , probably more than he initially thought I reckon , smart move to get the council to purchase 50% of the stadium and land .
Never forgiven him for the January 2017 window when he sold Hourihane , Winnall and Bree when were 7th in the Championship and a point outside the play offs .
Mixed bag was Cryne for me .
I remember when the bloke Peter Doyle came forward, and said he saved us etc. But he also didnt appreciate the criticism and his financial input wasnt a bottomless pit, ie he would only put so much in and then... well who knows what might have happened if he'd pulled the plug.
And then in 2003, wasnt it a combination of Risdale & Shepherd & Cryne taking over, when the yank Sean Lewis totally flopped and blew out!.
All the previous owners since 1887 ev been better than the present arseoyles.
Nowt to add.
What does tha think Bill , instead of just stirring sh1t and sitting back to watch ?
Hey Bill, you probably know a lot more than I do about Mr Doyle lol. Ive asked about him a number of times since his departure, and the word "mafia" gets mentioned a lot (and let me say allegedly here, to cover us all lol).
At the time he was full of himself in the programme notes, and I think the administrator seemed to think he/Doyle was the right man etc. :O
It started to get worrying when Ridsdale appeared on the scene fresh from trashing Leeds .
We needed stability at that time and he seemed just about the last person you'd want around with the difficulties we had back then , safe to see Cryne sent him packing after he spent the clubs entire budget in a week .
Very strange times around that period to say the least .
Hey Animal & co, I didnt really know (or maybe I didnt really listen to) what he'd done at Leeds at the time. So I thought the introduction of P Diddy Ridders seemed like a good thing for us, in Sep 2003 I think it was.
I genuinely thought at the time that he was/is a good man to have at the club, because of his knowledge and connections in the game etc.
How wrong could I have been eh lads, yes I really did judge that bloke badly wrong!!. :O
It became clear to me that he is an extremely expensive asset to have, because he spends the clubs money like there is no tomorrow (allegedly!).
And so we moved onto the reign of Gordon Shepherd & Patrick Cryne.....!.
