So, who believes that he and Melania actually have Covid?

Cracking move to gain public sympathy just before election. Biden needs to get out there and contract it too if he is to stand a chance.

You can just see the scene in Trump campaign office:

"Donald, you're losing market share amongst voters and your poll lead is slipping. You need to boost your popularity, we need you and Mrs T to get covid"

"uh?"

"No, not for real, just stay at home out of sight watching the baseball playoffs for 5 or 6 days. We will arrange a few medical experts to report on your poor health and steady recovery. Then you can appear in public, looking a bit feeble but wave a bit. They will swallow that"

"really?"

"yep, our spin doctors and poll analysts reckon it will be worth a 5% swing, unless Biden covers it off by claiming covid victim status too"

There was a cartoon doing the rounds when Johnson fell ill with Trump telephoning our beleaguered PM and suggesting, ‘Hell, Boris...even I never thought of that one!’

Maybe truth is stranger than fiction...either way for the first time in a while, I agree with you. On a more serious - healthwise - note...Trump and Melanie are serial mask avoiders and God knows how many folk they’ve come into contact with.

His love of "alternative facts" and consistent use of them including quite a few in what he thinks was a "debate" will make mant folk question the veracity of the claim. One of those alt facts was “Portland, the sheriff just came out today and he said, ‘I support President Trump.'” The Sheriff himself has come out since and said that he never has and never will support Trump. Surely even DT has to realise at some point that folk will start to compare him with the boy who cried "Wolf".

Having said all of that, if they genuinely DO have CV-19, I wish them a full recovery.
