An SFA Disciplinary hearing will take place concerning St Mirren and an alleged Covid-19 breach.
No doubt if either club is found to have breached COVID 19 procedures they will be hit with a fine. Which doesn’t help the opposition teams who they were due to play, if St.Mirren or Kilmarnock knew they had breached the set procedures they should forfeit matches.
Not least because, even in these straitened times, a fine for some clubs is no penalty at all, while the same amount of fine could easily end the existence of other clubs. They need to remember that whatever penalty they decide to impose will have to be applied to every similar case - and there will be other cases - going forward.
I wasn't sure at first, but I now think that it should involve a loss of points. I could imagine if Inversneckie Dandelion were facing a make or break match against Dundreich Doolanders, but needed time to let a couple of key players recover from injury, they might be tempted to plead Covid and pay the fine. Maybe I'm just cynical and / or suspicious.
