If this is true then if fans thought Bilic was hard done by then surely Wilder will be even more hard done by. Whoever takes over has got as big, if not a bigger task than Sam on his hands. What I don't understand is that, like us, they are virtually sure to be relegated. Wilder knows the lower divisions like the back of his hand and I can't understand why they wouldn't be given him the task of bringing them back up. Also, surely he has some credit in the bank for the side's performance last year. If it's his choice to leave it's obviously a different matter.

Only Wilder himself will know of course ..... but on recent TV interviews (usually after the Blades have lost again) he has worn that “I have given up and want out of here” face ...... would be surprised if he leaves purely on results over the past 3-4 seasons .... and like us they have had limited investment ...... although the £23m spent on Brewster looks like a poor decision ....

Unbelievable if true and if we’re getting rid of Fat Sam at the end of the season then Wilder would be top of the list for me.

I think Sheff Utd have been very unlucky this season, very narrow defeats in the main, the lack of a true goal scorer has cost them dear.

I remember on her that BaggieBlood was a big fan of Brewster and thought we should be trying to get him on loan at the very least so you can understand why they took a punt on the lad, the Burke transfer was a puzzle though.

If they’d splashed £40m on two proven, experienced strikers they’d probably have stayed up easily.

The favourite to take over is Paul Heckingarse (who) followed by Lennon, Lampard and my preferred choice at Albion, Eddie Howe. Although as far as Howe is concerned its surprising he as not yet been snapped up.

Ridiculous decision, they had a pile of injuries early on and never managed to regain last seasons momentum, that have also been very unlucky in a few games. As Mick has said if Allardyce goes I would be happy with Wilder next season.

I repeat, while the Chinese own the club, it will make little difference who our manager is. We could really be in the brown stuff if Lai decides to recoup as much money as possible from the club in any way he can. I may be being over pessimistic but he just takes out of the club and spends nothing to attempt a return to the Premier League, then this time next year we could be looking forward to the following season in League One. I wish he’d just ‘do one’ now.
