Diving is cheating and should be properly tackled by FIFA, UEFA and national authorities.
There should be retrospective analysis of footage and lengthy bans. The players in question should be unequivocally branded as cheats not as behaving in a professional manner.
Look at rugby and the bans they impose often for 12 weeks plus. It transforms behaviour - you also see it in American Football too - typically takes two to three weeks for the teams to adjust to rule changes but they adapt quickly.
The benefits at the moment are in favour of those trying to con the officials. It must make the job of the officials so much harder too.
To be clear I would include Ayling and his flop in that too which is now getting out of hand on occasions. He struggles to contain his grin sometimes when the ref awards a free kick.
Flopping should be treated as a red card offense.
3 games for a flop in the box is not out of line for the affect it has on a game as well as the potential impact on standings.
took me a while to get over Bamford's flop last year. don't want to see Ayling get too comfortable with it.
Aurier on Saturday was pathetic - he took a slight brush went down like a felled tree, had a look round and then he remembered what he had been told to do, screams like a baby. Fortunately Saturday ref was probably the best at his game I've seen recently and was having none of it, perhaps a card would have concentrated Aurier mind because he played like a Div 1 player (apologies to same).
Think a video review system and a tariff of bans like rugby would be perfect - previous form would count as aggravating. Range should be 3 weeks to say 26 weeks with the lower range for first time offenders - repeat offenders should be looking at 20 weeks plus - sure they would stop pretty quickly.
Grealish would be serving a life time ban
Something needs to be done about all the man buns too.
