Notts announce new 21/22 season Charity Partner

We are proud to announce the British Heart Foundation as our charity partner for the 2021-22 campaign.
Driven by their vision of a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases, the BHF raise money to research pioneering cures and treatments.
And, in recognition of their tremendous national and local efforts, and following the incident involving Christian Eriksen at this summer’s European Championships, we are looking forward to working closely alongside the BHF’s Nottinghamshire branch to support them throughout the season.
Our owners, Chris and Alex Reedtz, said: “Following a tremendously successful year working with another fantastic charity in Age UK Notts, who we helped raise almost £13,000, we are excited to launch a new partnership with the BHF in their 60th year.
“As we saw at this summer’s Euros and on several previous occasions in football, heart problems can affect anyone at any time and, by working closely with the BHF, we look forward to communicating ways our fans, staff and players can keep each other safe while also helping raise ***** funds to support pioneering research.”
Paula Scaife, BHF’s Nottinghamshire fundraising manager, said: “We’re really excited to partner with Notts County and look forward to working collaboratively to create a partnership that makes a tangible difference to heart patients across the county.
“We hope that by engaging with, listening to and involving Notts supporters, many of whom have been personally affected by heart and circulatory diseases, we can help empower them to take personal responsibility for their heart health.
“Our hope is that this partnership will create a lasting legacy for all Magpies fans, as well as their families and communities.
“Too many lives are needlessly lost because people don’t have basic CPR skills. Most out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the home – often in front of families and loved ones. We want to give Notts supporters the skills and knowledge they need to join our nation of lifesavers and make Nottingham a safer place to live.”
About the BHF – 60 years of beating heartbreak
Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They're all connected, and they're all under BHF’s microscope.
The number of deaths from heart and circulatory diseases in the UK has halved since they were formed in 1961. Their ground-breaking research contributed to the UK’s first heart transplant and the first portable defibrillator. They’ve also discovered that blood clots cause heart attacks and proven which drugs have lifesaving benefits.
Yet, heart and circulatory diseases remain the leading cause of death worldwide. In Nottinghamshire alone, 125,000 people are living with these conditions – and tragically, every three hours, someone in the county dies from a heart or circulatory disease. The BHF is currently funding five research projects in the city and investing over £700K into life-saving research in Nottinghamshire. They are a national charity with a local heart.
Today, only one in 13 people will survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the East Midlands. They want to dramatically increase access to defibrillators and see a huge uptake in CPR training, so that survival rates are more than tripled. With the help of our supporters we want to build a nation of lifesavers.
