We have completed the signing of Sheffield Wednesday centre back Ciaran Brennan on loan until 27 November.
The 21-year-old arrives as cover for Kyle Cameron and Connell Rawlinson, who are both likely to be out for two-to-three weeks with their respective injuries.
Our head coach, Ian Burchnall, said: “As soon as Kyle came off against Maidenhead we knew we were going to have to dip into the loan market to add cover at the back.
“We have shortlists prepared for situations like this to ensure we’re able to act quickly to bring in someone of sufficient quality who suits our style.
“Ciaran was one of four-or-five players we looked at closely and he came out on top. He’s very well thought of at Wednesday and will fit in well in terms of how we want to play.”
Brennan, who’ll wear squad number 22, will be available to feature in Emirates FA Cup matches during his stay at the Lane.

Sensible move IMO. I have nothing against the lads that could cover other than they lack a key defensive attribute in this league, height and aerial ability.
Rated quite highly by the Sheff Wed fans that have commented on tw@tter.
Myself and Colin had a number of options for loan player for the latest podcast including Brennan but plumped for the Forest connection instead.
That said Brennan should be pretty useful, predominantly right sided which can be seen from his career heatmap below, but his last game for the Wednesday first team was at LCB where he had an 86% success rate for all actions, again see 'actions' pic below.
Feedback suggests the club have done well again with their recruitment.

Hope he can pass it around at the back for the 1st half
Exactly this.
This also seems the right way to use the loans market - bringing in players when we have injuries and gaps to plug. Drove me crazy last year that we had the likes of Wolfe from Barnsley and, to a lesser extent, Knowles (now warming the bench at Morton) who were deemed not good enough to start and were basically there to make up the numbers in training and in FA Trophy games. I don't see how that benefits anyone - especially when we go to clubs and say we want to loan their players, yet don't play them.
