We have done the same to players we have taken on loan mon ami. No point in borrowing them if you are not going to play them is it?
And Dyche is as guilty as the next manager, so no point in him moaning if his loaned out players are not getting game time.
Best to recall him and drop him into a League 2 team and see how he goes on in there. :s
I remember him coming on as a substitute in a PL match for the last 10 minutes. He was like a deer caught in the headlights-completely out of his depth.
I thought at the time-WTF he is the best we have.
Its the same old storey, the best of youth who look like they will progress well will end up with one of the cream Clubs, look at the youngster we had in Coffe, he looked the business and Man Utd took him off our hands for a reported £1 Million with a promise of a friendly (which never happened), and even Coffe didnt make it.
I remember BT's mate Garlick doing a talk with Dyche about squad players and saying we could not compete with the top teams as for example Man City having over one hundred goalkeepers on their books.
You can have the best multi Million £ training ground and the best trainers in charge but money will always rule, we will get the odd one that slips through the net every several years if we are lucky but we will Never have anything that resembles a production line.
"but we will Never have anything that resembles a production line."
I know what you mean Alto, and you are spot on, we'll never have a production line churning out PL players on a regular basis, and probably not Championship players either, but we do have a production line that regularly churns out players for Clitheroe's level and you'll never hear Northern Premier League clubs moaning about Burnley's production line. They are good, sound, solid players they produce for this level, no complaints from over here about the Burnley production line. >;)
I'm just trawling through the EPL squads, with the exception of Liverpool, the two Manchester clubs and Chelsea the rest of the EPL are playing at it.
Not often I find congruence with you Alto but you are spot on with this mate, "You can have the best multi Million £ training ground and the best trainers in charge but money will always rule, we will get the odd one that slips through the net every several years if we are lucky but we will Never have anything that resembles a production line."
I don’t know how much the academy, U23’s costs to run per year. If it could produce a McNeil every two years - someone worth £20 million - would it be worth it? Is that a reasonable expectation?
