It has come to my attention that Wayne Rooney has a family car that cost £150,000, a Land Rover. Thats £ 150,000 more than our board will spend during the transfer window.

No one knows how minted Barry is. He could be rolling in it, or he could be struggling who knows. It will be bad if he has multi millions or billions, while spending nowt at the Abbey, the current position is truly manna from heaven for him, as he keeps his cash.

He will keep it anyway.

The most the fans can expect is a used Suzuki Swift, or a 1990s Fiesta, any hatchback that should be in a museum, if they sign anyone at all.

It also shows the gulf of Mexico between the haves and have nots. United are at the peak of where they can go, its downhill from here.

Unless of course, you had an owner who had money, willing to invest in infrastructure, players and the future, as Cambridge is booming, the club can only get bigger with the right owner, which isnt Barry.

Indeed he will hold it back, as he is doing, camoflaged by the current temporary league placing. You still have faith in Barry then?, you will see how the future pans out, and we will see.

£ 150,000 is nothing in todays football, its money for spearmint gum.

Div 2 is now non league football, and div 1 half non league, there is a demonstrable gap in wealth. United are a non league club, poor by modern standards, and the boat for the big time has left, Barry made sure of that. Barry will spend pennies, while selling big in the future, making his money.

At a time when Cambridge will be much bigger, and a stones throw from London. Only then will upper league football becomes possible, if it happens at all.

In the meantime Barry hasnt got the price of a family car. Or the rest of the board, paupers by todays standard. Its a shame this club never went bust, we could have started again without dead wood.
