Green Energy Conversion?

I’m starting to investigate converting my property to green energy so have any of you lot done it yet?

I’m looking at a Tesla Power Wall and solar energy through panels on my roof.

I’m lead to believe existing pipe work and radiators would work because my gas system heats a large water boiler that feeds the underfloor and radiator heating and the green energy that will be stored in the Tesla Power Wall will simply take over the heating of the tank?

The unit cost for the electric is infinitesimal compared to present rates.

My electric is estimated to be £4000+ next year and my gas £2000+........it’s time to make the change I think.

It's the way to go Mick we have been upgrading the windows to triple glazed and insulating more as we go along.
I want solar panels, but my wife doesn't like the look of them.
Every new home should have them fitted as part of the building regs.
Anyone on here have had them fitted.

Think about having a heat pump fitted, brilliant bits of kit, just had one installed at the mother in laws, runs underfloor heating and radiators upstairs, not cheap but always work as not reliant on sun and wind, Mick shop about for your power wall TESLA are expensive and there are other options.

So what’s the story with heat pumps Dave, how exactly do they work?

I also thought they required a different type of radiator?

I wish my estimates were that cheap Mick! Know a lot of wise people who massively inflated their estimates on 31 March to pay at pre 1 April rates saving around 55% increase. Wise move!

Still say anyone struggling with energy increases should receive massive help from the government. Even food banks are reporting it’s all well and good giving out free food but many who need this help can’t afford to heat it or cook it.

It’s the ones who need the help i feel for and not people like me and others who don’t like the increases but will not go into poverty.

I am only happy for the intervention of mother nature this winter....which lets be honest....was relatively mild..

The mother in laws system is new from scratch with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, these are designed to work better with the output from the heat pump, however they do work with existing radiators in a lot of cases, the article below might help.
