So we would have been playing away to Macclesfield today, had they not gone bust.
All eyes on Halifax v Chesterfield. We're probably out of contention for 3rd already but a win for Halifax would surely put them beyond the reach of the straw clutching.
Will Stockport bounce back from their first league defeat since 11th December?
Happy birthday to John Chiedozie, 62 today.
Aldershot need points as well to be secure, so could do us a favour. As I don't think we will get in the top 5
I think 4th is our best possible finish. So with that in mind I would prefer a Halifax win. We won’t pick up 18 points from our last 6 fixtures. We almost definitely will throw in a Torquay performance somewhere.
We need to manoeuvre ourselves in the playoffs and have it in our hands that we play a home 1/4, and then away to Halifax. Wrexham away would be an unbelievably tough game as they are bang in form.
I simply can’t see the teams above is going for 2nd and 3rd all dropping enough points for us to capitalise and gate crash 3rd.
I partly agree with this but also think we still have a chance of third. Currently Chesterfield are in touching distance while Halifax aren’t. I think a win for Chesterfield would be a better result. They both have more tough games to play and if we win ours (IF) and they both have some more slip-ups we could still sneak third. I expect us to catch Chesterfield regardless and also Solihull based on their remaining games but Halifax need to lose a few to give us a chance there. So 4th is definitely in reach, third a stretch needing Halifax to have a poor run in. Like others I’ve been thinking we will regret greatly those 5 lost points and the 4 we handed them. That 9 point swing would have left us still talking about an outside chance of top spot.
Sticking with my earlier prediction of a 5th placed finish.
Realistically, we’ll probably be seventh by 5pm, just two points ahead of D&R (good job we did the double over them). No room for another Torquay fiasco this season.
