The EFL position of considering docking points from Rochdale is a farce. Without knowing the intimate details of the matter I discern that it is about a large percentage of the Rochdale shareholding being the subject of interest from a new party and the way that it was dealt with.
The club did not get any advantage over anyone else on the pitch through this hiatus and thus the points deduction should be zero. If the EFL find that some technicality of some rule was broken and thus a points deduction of 1 point has to be applied then so be it but it would be very harsh indeed. Common sense should prevail with no points deduction.
That is basically it in a nutshell, there was a hostile takeover bid rumored to be led by our ex ousted CEO who is now at KFC Fylde..
Morton House led by Matt Southall & few other shady characters bought shares at a high price and a lot of them from certain ex Dale employees / directors but did not register them as a change of ownership with the club. A share option was floated to dilute the potential of a takeover by majority shareholding, this is what all the fuss is about... The Board & all the volunteers who run the Dale Trust have been issued High Court Writs over it.. Scandalous in many ways as the shares were not registered and now effectively worthless from what was alleged to have been paid for them. No dates have been set for the court hearings yet though so this could rumble on for months..
The EFL was "backing" RAFC now they have turned turtle... No one is saying what the charges are for legal reasons and hopefully they will apply common sense to this..
