Apparently he shook every players hands when being subbed. Thats the only talented player they have got, and talking of talent, there isnt any, anywhere.

Even in non league the players are huge, Frankenstein like. Watching older football, there are no Johnny Giles, Bremners, Bests, Maradonnas etc. The lower centre of gravity gives them an exponential advantage in ball control.

A generation, maybe more, of richly talented footballers have NO place in pro football.

O" halloran is a nipper by modern standards, a Cambridge hero, feted, adored, people will mourn his passing. Probably to a better team, who pay better.

Sub 6 foot players have a place in giants football. Indeed, modern coaches should prioritise them, for their skills, those that monsters dont have. A bit like mice among the feet of elephants.

A quick mobile centre half, getting in front of forwards, not defending from behind. A small centre forward, who takes the ball to feet, turning, running at the defence, like Bull and Claridge, quick, serpent like, dribbling, bringing others into the game, but quick to shoot....like the Man city forwards.

The pre-occupation with strength height and power shows itself as a betrayal of football, football now is a pale shadow of what was.

Indeed, football is boring. Like BBC five live extra this morning bringing commentary from a county championship game, ball by ball with two commentators, one female. Of course, the BBC is quite mad.
