Luton aren't much bigger than Notts gates wise but they probably will take a significant step up on that front when they relocate.
Thanks largely to their plastic pitch, they spent 10 seasons in the top flight 1982/83-1991/92 during which time they won the League Cup and IIRC reached two FAC semis, so their fans probably have higher expectations and generally demand more than ours do. Their relegation was basically a punishment handed out by the FL, rather than self inflicted on the pitch. Also last in the 2nd tier as recently as 2007 before the current run at that level.
Short of something drastic happening at Notts, Oxford now regularly finishing top half of tier 3 after four seasons in tier 5 is probably a much more realistic best case scenario for the next 5-15 years.
