The custom, in unrestricted times, has been to give at least 2 weeks notice but the notice periods for this year's 2 fora have been 6 days and 10 days. The announcement of the attendance limit for both these fora stipulated a maximum attendance of 100. For the first one, at a notice period of 34 hours the attendance limit was revised to that of the capacity of the room, which in this case was the Sunset Suite. For both fora the only means of asking questions was from the floor on the night. Previously, questions were allowed to be sent prior to the event to a stipulated specific email address. Going back as far as the days of BBCRC covering the event there was the facility to pose questions during the event by means of Twitter, Facebook and 'live' telephone call. For both this year's fora there has been a specific start and end time, limiting the duration to 90 minutes. In the past the promise was to go on until all questions were answered.
Clearly this year's fora have been much inhibited in comparison to those held in pre-Covid times. You do not need to be a cynical, sceptical person in order to draw some conclusions from that.
The Fans' Forum will be 'live' at 6:30pm here :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PpoxTdBqDE
It is already in place. They just have to turn up.
Well that was embarrassing in terms of duration and content. Only those very few who attended could ask questions.
Paul Simpson will not be impressed. It did not give the impression of a club that will be successful.
