In 2006 I was a member of the Co-operative Group Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands area committee.
I had to attend a meeting in Glasgow where the person taking the meeting was banging on about the Pink Pound and how 10% of the U.K. population were gay. The Co-operative Group based in Manchester were targeting this group as their current and future customers.
I asked “What about the Hetero***ual people, dare I say normal people who are the remaining 90% of the U.K. what are the Co-operative Group doing about them” I further added that “This appears to be another case of the tail wagging the dog”.
The person taking the meeting could not give me answer.
This was when the Crystal Meths minister was the Chairman of the Co-operative Group.
