Positives from tonight
Loads and loads. The fact that we drew with City and should have drawn with Liverpool is a huge testament to the work Howe and his coaches have done.
Huge credit to the players for carrying out the gameplan so well.
To take Liverpool that deep into the game with the players we had on the pitch? Again, back to the manager,
Isak is some player, man,
And great to see the forum so busy this evening.

Everything apart from the bent referee.
-
Great to see Isak break his duck, especially against L/Pool. He was so calm on the ball, he'll only get better now with better players around him.
-
Only positives. Impressive work really.
Apart from the ref of course, 1 min was maybe right, but not two.
Another good game ruined, by the horrible standards of the refs in the EPL.
-
Lascelles didn't play like sh!t / look out of place against a top team
-
Gutted with the result, of course. But dont want to dwell too much on it - that point won’t make or break our season (i hope so), but the fact that we gave two top teams in the league a proper match is what makes me optimistic.
I remember back few years when we’ve got easily beat by MC 5:0 or something, someone here jokingly posted something like “mid-table team gave a champion contender run for their money - that’s how your promote the league competitiveness, etc”
Well, it is good to be back in a fight, even if we don’t aim for a top spot. Yet.

Is Big Joe invincible? He never seems to get injured..... unless it's my memory

It’s all good, man. We’re all disappointed but the fact we took the game to them and they only beat us in the last minute (and didn’t deserve to IMO) is unreal when you think back to the recent past.
I can’t wait to see Bruno, Maxi and Isak on the pitch at the same time. Bruno and Jo providing the steel in midfield and Maxi supplying Isak will be mental.
I thought Fraser and Miggy put in good shifts. I wish Anderson had come on instead of Murphy cos Murphy isn’t good enough just now.
The biggest positive is EH and his coaching team - they’ve transformed a ‘cabbage soup’ of players into a proper team with fight, spirit and organization.

Isak's second goal made me lose my voice. He was in total control and put them to the sword - he had their CB and goalie all over the place.
That said, I don't know if they had backed off because they saw a flag, heard a whistle or what but it certainly looked like they were committed to me.
That calmness on the ball and him causing players to fly around him until he hammered an unstoppable into the roof of the net (his goal was shot that way also from the opposite side!) makes me feel we're onto something here.
Callum is no slouch at shooting either so look forward to the day we get Isak + Callum + ASM on the pitch at the same time :star::star::star: backed up by Jolo + Bruno in midfield.
Is it too much to sign up Barkley? >:)
