Maybe she should just admit that she’s gone in over her head, out of her depth. People ridiculed Boris as incompetent and others expressed their dislike of Rishi Sunak but they didn’t plunge the country into economic meltdown. Worrying times.

Whatever views you may have on Boris, it was the wrong time to be making such fundamental changes to PM and Chancellor. The Tory MPs panicked; had they been able to consult the Tory Party membership at the outset, they would most likely have found that Boris was more popular that any of those seeking to replace him. What we need is for the most capable people to run the country, unfortunately, I don’t think that any of us have the faintest idea who those people might be!
