A bit south of Oban, but a couple of nights at the Crinan Hotel on the way up wouldn't do you any harm.

That looks rather splendid mon ami, I'll start saving up right away! ;D
When I was working for a large company based in Scotland I spent lots of time north of the boarder.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in was Cameron House on the shores of Loch Lomond, but since then it has been rebuilt after a serious fire. It is a Devere hotel so should still be worth considering, especially with its location.
I also liked the Hilton at Coylumbridge, unfortunately I believe it is now a Britannia Hotel, so could have gone exceptionally down market but again the location was fantastic.
Hope you have a great time when you go north of the wall BT,
A tour of one or more of the whisky distilleries can also be recommended.
A tour of one or more of the whisky distilleries is a given V_C! :D
BT, no recommendations except to be very aware of the Poison Dwarf >;)
Don't go,it's cold ,wet and miserable with loads of fog. Full of drunken Scths as well. Stay in and watch all the episodes of Still Game ..much better and cheaper.
Lucky you, in 1971 I took the brand new Mrs S camping in an idyllic spot just outside Oban. At 10pm on the first night the rain swept in, it still hadn't stopped 36 hours later, so we packed up and went to my sister's in Cramlington where the sun was cracking the flagstones. She hasn't been in a tent since.
