Ironic!
Wolves are in Marbella for a spell of warm weather training. They are due to play a match against Empoli FC today but the kick off has been delayed because the pitch is waterlogged! They are now moving to another venue with the ko now at 12 30 UK time.
I expect the team will contain a number of younger players with the World Cup four still away.
I hope to be watching the game on the Wolves TV and will try and post updates.
-
A competitive start from Wolves, quite physical from both sides for a friendly. Not the best playing surface by the look of it.
-
Fif**** competitive minutes and rain starting to fall. Still 0-0 but Wolves have had the majority of the play,
-
Bueno hammers a beauty on twenty-five minutes.
-
The Italians almost score. A free kick cannons off Collins head and hits the crossbar. Wolves clear.
-
Half time Wolves lead 1-0. We have been the better side with some slick passing and movement.
-
Empoli have come into it more in the second half, but Wolves have had chances as Raul replaces Costa and Rhonan replaces Guedes.
-
Wolves bringing on several youngsters. Joe Hodge has just been replaced after an impressive display. Empoli nick an equaliser.
-
A mass braw breaks out involving Wolves heavyweight Podence, Coaching staff from both sides on the pitch before calm is restored. In the Premiership Several reds would have appeared. No cards shown here.
-
A good workout which ended 1-1. Good to see so many youngsters making an impact. They have another game on Wednesday.
