Its not called that anymore. The reason the fans called it that is because having a goalscorer was like a man in the desert dying of thirst, then a bar appears, and a figure walks over with a pint of lager in his hand, and gives it to them.
When thats gone, he asks "another".?
Cambridge, football in general is dying, football isnt being played anymore. I watched QPR v Burnley yesterday, amazingly, John Beck was centre forward for QPR, it was 1975.
Now thats football. Players were running off the ball. Not like today, keeping shape is everything.
I'm presuming that you watched The Big Match Revisited and not a game from yesterday?
I remember Beck not as a player but as the manager of Utd,it must have been probably in the late 80's or early 90's,tbh the years are blurring into one nowadays, who would have thought that the 1990 world cup was 32 years ago, seems more like 20 years ago to me,I can remember the millennium new year's night like it was yesterday because I was working nights at the time but any baby born on that day will now be 23 and maybe has kids of their own, frightening really where the time has gone
