Seems a long wait for our next game, just wish it was done with. Living in Wales I was tempted to go to this game but now in Sky, i’m not sure. Anyway… long wait til this game so time for a thread on local elections - what I’m reading is what was expected, but will voters carry this same vote through to the general election? My bet is, people will get mislead again.
Don't think that there were any real surprises in the results-too many people are simply disillusioned and fed up after13 years of Tory government but as many are equally not convinced by Starmer, Labour are not the sole beneficiaries with the Lib Dems particularly picking up votes.Tactical voting? Undoubtedly a part of it but the Conservative Party have only themselves to blame. Lots of things in the mix including Brexit, impact of covid, concerns on immigration and the war in Ukraine etc. that have led us to where we are now and some things beyond their control but the Tories have over seen a widening gap between the have and have nots and that will be their downfall.
Greeted with apathy I think, there really isn't a party to vote for for a lot of people in this country you have the left-wing parties whose only difference is how woke they are, and the Tories who for the most part aren't real conservatives.
Come the General Election many will hold their nose and vote but many I feel won't bother such is the dire state of politics in this country.
