Boris didn't lie about Brexit, he just said what those voting for it wanted to hear. The fact that nobody in power had any plan formulated should the vote be in favour of leaving is the main reason that we are in the mess that we are in. In respect of queuing at passport controls etc. ---why are you surprised? EU citizens can travel freely between EU countries, however, we are no longer part of the EU so must be treated accordingly. When I was in Germany in the late 1960s we had to stop at the borders of Netherlands, Belgium and France even if we had just been on a day trip. Coming home on leave, you had to factor in all the border stops in order to ensure that you caught the ferry.
This year, in November (?), most British travellers to Europe, aged between 18 and 70, will be required to pay for an 'Etias' which will be valid for three years. Those aged under 18 or over 70 will receive one for free but will have to apply before travelling.
