Give Them Time

There’s no rush to get a new head coach.
Give the directors time to get the best they can.
I’d rather wait a couple of weeks longer to get a head coach that is successful throughout the season instead of rushing to get one in that’s a flop.

I can imagine it’s not an easy task getting through the interview at Barnsley.
Things said to potential head coaches such as:

We choose the players to recruit - you don’t.
We choose a high press style - all the players throughout the structure of the club are schooled in that style - you don’t choose the style of play.
We don’t play wingers.
We play 343 or 352 formations - we don’t play 442 - we choose the formation the team plays you don’t.

Now then - can you imagine that being said to some of the named managers who’s appeared on betting sites such as Bet Victor eg Wilder.
What their reactions would be ??? 😄

Wouldn't be putting my name forward with those restrictions.
B Victor - Jones/Wilder 2/1 joint favourite's Devaney now 4/1.

Not sure there are any restrictions , just a lot of speculation & rumour mongering for me, believe what you want & what will be will be

There’s definitely those restrictions - if that’s what you want to label them.
A head coach has to understand the Barnsley way of doing things before being considered for an interview.
So my point being - can you imagine some of the names being mentioned now being even considered for interview ???
Because I can’t.

I’m guessing - if it’s not Devaney - and the longer it goes on I can’t see it being him - that one or two names will pop up from abroad.
The delay there maybe getting a work permit.
If that fails - they will turn to British lower league.

I couldn't give a monkey's fart to be honest. As fans, we have two certainties whilst operating under this model-

(1) We know that come three months down the line, the new head coach will be the scapegoat for poor results and get fired.

(2) This time next year he'll be off elsewhere for pastures new because his stock has risen.

It's a complete waste o snap and bacca is the clubs model.

All we can do is support the team that we love. It's in the blood whatever happens and this is a total shyte show that we've been watching unveil over the last ten years. There's bugga all that we can do about it unfortunately.

It is obvious that the club model requires some backing and investment in order for it to maybe succeed. That is not happening or ever likely going to happen under joint/multiple shareholders who are clearly not singing from the same hymnsheet as it were.

All the gumph that we constantly get fed by the owners is impractical nonsense in regard to progression or being stable or indeed successful. The simple reason is that they are not prepared to put the funds in and back their so called beliefs.

The 9000 season ticket holders are been mugged off unfortunately and their loyalty towards the club is being abused by people who've not only stood by whilst Conway ruined us, they still aren't prepared to put their own funds in.

They dropped on with Duff. The next head coach is lamb to the slaughter in my opinion. He's going to have a weaker squad than what Duff had. The incoming players will all be free transfers or loans. I don't anticipate a very good season for 23/24 and nor do I for the following seasons. The crowds will dwindle and the club will struggle big time.

When you put things into perspective, the future looks really bleak unless changes are made or there becomes an owner with much more clout than possessing less than 50% of the shares. For this to possibly work, we need an owner with a majority shareholding of at least 70%.

Unless Parekh can buy out Chein Lee shares, we are only gonna head backwards.

Sorry I forgot to add- I hope Parekh can buy out Chien Lee if possible. I hope that is the big announcement that has been promised by our CEO because we might just have a chance of getting the football club on a more solid footing if this happens.

Duff wasn't a specific high press coach , he didn't die on any style of play hill , he was a pragmatic coach who played the style of play with the players he had available and dependent on the opposition we were playing .

We never high pressed in the Play Off final for example .
