After 5 games we had 6 points, a +1 GD… we have the same this season.
Last season after 7 games we had 8 points, we have Sheff Utd and Burnley next… think we should be on more than 7 points after 7 games this season.
All this ‘doom and gloom’ in the press is gonna disappear, if anything it should move to Old Trafford ;-)
Yes indeed! We are in great shape comparatively. We've played the Bin Dips, City away & a Brighton team who are looking good for top 4 on early season form.Quote:

Even the BBC were on it claiming that ‘pressure on Howe eases after Brentford win’. What pressure FFS? Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think we have exactly matched the results from last season i.e. best Villa at home, lost at home to Livarpool, etc.?
It would be funny if the fixture list order decided a manager’s future.
So, it’s not ideal we haven’t improved on last season yet but hardly a time for this ridiculous reaction from the press.

We're also differently organised compared to the other league teams. The board have said repeatedly Eddie is a long term manager, they would love him to become our Fergi.
A few tough results aren't gonna change that. "trust the process" is something you hear from those guys all the time. Our current owners are serious business people. They are not prone to u-turns or knee jerk reactions at a few negatives. It's about long term strategy and the stability that comes with it.
There will not have even been a single comment about Eddie's position until the anti-Newcastle Fleet street hacks started to whip up this mild hysteria.
