Managing a Women's Team

Woud you manage a women's football team? Telling a player they're rubbish i'm gonna sub ya then you could be accused of bullying. Continually having to tell a player to stop wondering out of position then a harassment charge could be coming. Brush their arm accidentally then unwanted attention could happen and also mind your eye contact it could end up being s3xual misconduct Then you have to gauge which players are going through their monthlies! Its a career ending job, just leave it to the women to manage

Probably not to be honest. However, I believe we should await the outcome of any investigation before we draw any conclusion based on media reporting.

We see misogynistic phrases in every day life but I suspect there is, to some degree, a level of misandry out there also. That thought may be because of the behavior depicted by a minority of men towards women due to ignorance or sheer stupidity, which we see on social media and witness when out and about. Some call it laddishness, others may not, it can be particularly concerning for lone females in the evenings etc.

Back on topic, let’s wait and see the outcome of any enquired/investigation before we make judgement.

I read an interesting blog by a woman some weeks ago. She was saying that women have caused a huge problem by only looking “outward” for causes of problems for women. Right from the first womens lib movement to now all the problems caused are everyone else’s fault. If there’s a problem in the marriage then he is a narcissist for example. She was saying that women have lost the ability to look at the possibility that they may be at fault for some problems. It was a fascinating read and I could see exactly what she was saying.

Don't doubt for one second that there is still plenty of ***ism and misogyny out there but agree with a lot of that-as do the majority of women I know! Tbh, again I think it's a generational thing as most of the ladies who tend to support this view are of a certain age and all over 30 for example!😀

There is this conflicting argument amongst women where one side argues for a level of tolerance around ***ual banter saying it is part of life and the other arguing that they are just saying this because they have been conditioned by men/society to accept such behaviour. Also, some women can better look after themselves when it comes to unwanted behaviour and call it out but plenty of others lack the confidence to and suffer. No easy answer except that maybe respect should be key to all relationships.

I was helping coach our U13's boys team last week working on turning with the ball. On the next pitch our U15 girls were practising similar. In all innocence I said to the lads 'She can do a turn.' One of the lads shouted 'You've heard.' I went bright red; didn't know what to say or do next.

Although everyone thought it was funny but I did feel compelled to phone our Child Protection Officer and report the incident.

I do help out midweek with all the different age groups but not the girls teams. I feel very self conscious watching young **** age girls running around in not a lot so I avoid.

No worse than managing kids/youth teams, that is a nightmare!

I wouldn't mind managing a women's team but I'm generally too busy cooking tea while the wife plays football. Such is life, I'm always spinning plates.......

Spinning plates!! Whatever happened to those who spun plates on long sticks on telly? Does nobody ever spin plates anymore for fun? I remember seeing these performers on Roy Castles record breakers way back in the day

Simpler times Phil, them and the old school TV magicians. As an aside I was shocked to find out that childhood TV magician Ali Bongo had recently been deposed as president of Gabon!
