I thought the one year loan was just to help us get around FFP and that the deal is that after the loan he is made permanenet regardless?

No, you're right, the agreement is to buy him at the end of the season.
I'm absolutely confident he'll come good when it's his time.
I like him as a player and as someone else said, Tripps won't go on forever and he's learning from the best in the business you'd hope.
I think Trippier might have next season as his last as a first choice, then its Tino and Hall as regular fullbacks, for us and england.
We can’t expect every player to mature and be match ready at such a young age… the fact that Tino and Miley are ready is exceptional.
Hall will come good, I think he’ll get more time as an attacking player the next few games, as Gordon is going to need a break soon, he’ll likely start against Everton but if we can get a couple goals ahead I can see him not being played for the full 90… especially with Spurs and Milan following.
I’m more concerned about that Ashby fella - where is he?
