It was another strange one CiB, we had been chasing him all summer, then suddenly signed Berge from Sheffield United instead, they then went and signed Hamer almost immediately, it seemed as if they had used our money from the Berge deal to sign Hamer. But if we could afford to prise Berge away from Sheffield I can't see why we failed to prise Hamer away from Coventry. It was just another chapter in a bizarre transfer window.
In all honesty I think Berge is a better player than Hamer. It was the Coventry centre-forward I wanted not Hamer.
