Will you believe we can survive the drop or is it too little too late?
Reality is we need to win 3 more games than the teams directly above us. That from 23 games and probably after teams directly above us have added a few more players in the Jan window.
I wouldn't hold your breath, though since it's you asking some would say. "Go for it"
We would need to win every other game or so from here to the end which is completely unrealistic for us.
It might be possible in div one but this league is very unforgiving
Damage already done which is a real shame
Red Rum was nearly a fence behind Crisp but got up to win got to take 7 pts min' out of the next 3 games then who knows.
Exactly half way through the season, and we've got 13 points, not looking good is it ?
So,if we were to double our points total for the second half, that would give us a total of 39 ,which would definitely see us relegated probably in last place.
Right,if we were triple our points total for the second half,ie 39 points, this I'm sure would see us stay up with 52 points.
So basically we need to be one of the top 10 teams in the league from now on to have any chance of staying up.
We are all ready relegated, so we plan for next season in Lge1 & make the best of what’s left of this season. Let’s go shlt or bust in the FA Cup to cheer us up.
Not a prayer unfortunately...... .unless we suddenly hit play off form in the second half of the season and several teams above us go into a death spiral.
League 1 it is then.
Come on Tony, remind me again why I should renew my season ticket.
I suppose it's at the stage where it depends what the teams round us do at the same time.
However, if we did, then it could start instilling a bit of belief and get a bit of momentum going.
There's plenty of teams down there having wobbles, so who knows.
I'm fighting my natural pessimism to think we can somehow turn it around.
I just wish I could get to more games myself, to try contribute a bit and show my support.
One final thought, I really do hope we can turn it around, but if we go down it'd not be the end of the world, it's always a massive struggle for us in the championship, so we could hopefully have a bit of a regroup and go again.
I've recently had a bit of an eye opener as regards perspective.
The same day we were at Leicester. I got home from work, to Buxton, where they'd been playing a LEAGUE game against 5cun thorpe.
I used to go Scunny( the place, not the team) quite a lot a few years ago and remember seeing their plans for a modern new stadium and big plans for the future, in Gunness, I think it was.
The plans ultimately fell through, and they've ended up down the leagues.
Of course we could be at the start of the same kind of plummet.
Ahhh there's that pessimism 😆
I have feeling we will beat either boro or Sunderland and I am betting to this effect on a double up stakes basis, but I think survival is not going to happen.
