RIP Tom. Didn't look in the best of health in the recent Full Monty series.
Wife has just informed me. People might say he was a small part player but to me he played a great part as the straight man.
His played his character part Gerald well in the original film. Agree with CAM in that he didn't look in the best of health in the last series.
I even commented to the wWife how he looked so grey/white and old.
Funniest parts from the film were when he was being interviewed for a new job and the gnomes were moving along the wall behind his interviewers and buying all the late Sheffield 'Stars' on City Road and stuffing them all in the bin to attempt to save his dignity. Comedy at it's best. Dry wit and humour and most importantly, a reflection on Northern Humour which the south can't even contemplate at replicating.
RIP Sir and thank you for a film I will always recall with a wry smile.
I remember him in one of his earliest roles as a journalist in the excellent 1983 series "Spyship"
