Cambridge Citys new manager.
There is no discussion about it anywhere, indeed, the club appears to have completely stopped. Any news about the ground is absent, as is all else.
O well.
Can you treat customers like this and thrive? The attendances at St Ives were good, considering every game was a trip, especially if you didnt have a car, it would take all day to get there and back.
And like Wimbledon, who became MK Dons, the Cambridge name will disappear, yes it will, Sawston is not Cambridge. The Milton Road faithful will evaporate.
To nothing...in time. How many from the Milton Road area attend St Ives?, who ever you are, full marks, they will be old, with memories of times gone by. You would have thought the club would run a coach from Milton Road to St Ives, and to Sawston.
Which of course opens up a new avenue for invention, a new name, like Sawston Big Jaws, Sawston Dingoes, Sawston Razorbacks, rather than repeating Sawston, names might include, trees, yes trees, those magnificent, high, huge trees at the back bordering Manor School, a link with the old club.
Or anything linking back to the good old days.
Then again, its a new chapter, a new story, the old must be ditched. No one can live in the past, some do, like me, and the Bickerstaff years,
as those that still travel do.
