Yeah that's superb comedy again Nudger kid lol.
But we were playing Slovenia actually, NOT Slovakia. 😄
First time ever I've not watched an England tournament game to the end , had an early night at half time .
Painful to watch , utter clueless bstrd Southgate .
I somehow managed to watch the full game - just my glass half full style thinking we would come good and score a couple of goals.
Awful watch.
Southgate is shortly going to have lot's of time in his adopted home town of Harrogate to visit Betty's every day, bless him.
I set off watching it without any great enthusiasm , managed to stay awake until half time & then next thing I knew I looked up and we were in the 74th minute, managed to sleep through the usual half time tripe from the experts and also miss 30 mins of this thrilling encounter , win win !! and to think some on here thought Collins football was poor, it was edge of the seat stuff compared to Englands finest !!
Such a snooze fest again.
Looks like the draw has opened up but will we take advantage of it? Of the evidence from the first 3 matches, it is a hard no.
Caution, Caution and more Caution.
The man is strangulating a group of very talented players.
I’m finding many parallels with Barnsley last season.
Boring crab style tactics.
Best squads - poor teams.
Alternatively - watching Austria - where many ideas of how Barnsley play came from - is such a pleasure.
Exciting football.
Average squad - good team.
You can see the logic in trying to appoint Thalhammer.
I thought it was an improvement on the first two games although it didn't take much to surpass that did it. We became more assertive, put some good passing together and more importantly, as a team we pushed up 10 yards from the first 2 games which it was crying out for.
I'm slightly more optimistic after watching that. Our defence is below average and Southgate knows it. To counter that he's gone into the tournament being too negative but I felt there were green shoots emerging last night.
International football is about clean sheets and taking your opportunities with the quality atracking players that you have. Always has been.
There's not many teams throughout football history like the 1970 Brazil team was. Perhaps people have gotten carried away with our attacking talent, myself included.
Not one person on here has credited Slovenia who played for, and deserved their draw. Their celebrations were all too evident at the final whistle. They defended superbly last night and managed to nullify England's threat. Credit to them. We huffed and puffed but didn't manage to blow the house down unfortunately.
Perhaps we may see the attacking quality of this England side against more offensive opponents in the knockout stages. Who knows?
