I’m thinking of doing the North Coast 500 in August and for those of you that doesn’t know it’s a round trip along Scotland mostly along the coastal roads, has anyone done it before, any tips or advice or just follow my nose and see what happens?

Never done it but take plenty of midge repellent.
We were going to do it but Covid got in the way. Be careful now though because it’s got VERY popular, long delays on the roads in some places, loads of tourists about and the natives are revolting. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/d...ffic-problems/
If it’s packed out with tourists and the local Mars batterers aren’t happy about it then I might leave it,tbh I thought thst it might be a gentle drive around Scotland dropping into local villages for tea and haggis sandwich
If you use teabags yes
I may head down the southwest again when the kids have gone back to school as it’s cheaper,I love it down Devon and Cornwall way
I’ve got to admit thst I’ve never heard of the howoldboy but I love to visit new parts of the country so I will look a little closer into it tomorrow, thanks for the heads up
