Just waiting for the Bobby Barbie “they” range.
Not only all over TV and the papers but even gets posters on a West Bromwich Albion message board discussing! Very clever by someone at Mattel.
To be honest I have nothing against manufacturers diversifying their range to better reflect both society (though maybe not all elements of society Mick 😂) and, of course, the market place. Nothing wrong with black or brown kids playing with a traditional blonde Barbie but also nothing wrong about having black or brown Barbies or even Barbie in a wheelchair if it comes to that. If it helps encourage acceptances fine.
Having said that, I take the point about a blind barbie. I mean yes, kids who are not blind might play with them but the argument for kids getting bought one because it looks like them so they can identify more with it (e.g. Black, brown, in a wheelchair) kind of falls down. I mean, how would they know this Barbie was blind if they can't see it? Maybe the stick gives it away?
(Love the idea of a dinghy Barbie btw!😂😂)
