Sheffield United v Swansea City
Sheffield United v Swansea City Wed 2nd Oct 19:45
After witnessing the disappointing draw with Bristol City, it’s clear a pattern is emerging in our matches this season.
We play with such intensity first half that second-half we suffer burn-out.
The better players are knackered, our lesser players are subbed on and the opposition with their superior subs are ready to strike.
We have a weak bench and a small squad cut to the bone in an economy drive by the owners.
We are playing players out of position through lack of cover and it’s hurting us. Those 4 points dropped at home against Cardiff and Bristol would have put us on the same number of points as 2nd place Sunderland and 3rd placed Blackburn on 15 points.
We move on and with little recovery time we travel to Bramall Lane to play the recently relegated Blades of Sheffield.
With their superior squad, last season’s PL income and parachute payments they have put together a quality team that even though in transition will be hard to beat.
Add to that their extra day recovery time and home advantage and we have a big task ahead of us.
Bearing in mind we have Stoke at home this Saturday, Luke will have no choice but to utilise the squad players.
Most Jacks would take the draw now.
