Is Manure's demise the fault of Fergie

It's now eleven seasons since Fergie gave up the reigns at Manure and although they have had moderate success they haven't and don't look like ever being what they were under his iron rod rule.

The players, every one, of them were terrified of him, all of the staff at Manure, including those running the club above him were terrified of him. And most importantly those at the F.A. internal officials and officials on the field were terrified of him in so much that Manure got away with much more in the way of dodgy decisions than any other club in the Premiership.

I reckon that if Fergie had passed on the secrets of his nastiness, and how to retain his power mad achievements to his following managers then Manure would still be a force to be reckoned with rather than the damp squib that they have become.

Liverpool in the 80s were the same. Certain clubs have had a dominant period of success when they have managed to exploit their position as the financial power house of the league. Liverpool bought their titles in the 80s. Fergi's filth bought their titles in the 90s & 00s.

Auld red nose knew how to manipulate the officials and media alike. It lasted a long time but nothing last forever. This isn't La Liga where 2 clubs completely corrupt the sport.

Their days as a dominant challenging force are over. Liverpool fans from the 80s had to learn to accept they are an also ran mid-table no body until Klipperty horse teeth came to town.

The Filth's fans are 80% of the problem. Their sense of entitlement and expectation to be a title challenging, Champions League contender is a complete delusion.

The hate their owners. Despite them giving Ten Pence £550+ million in transfers. They blame them for the demise of the club.

What a joke! Why don't they 'ave a whip raand and buy the club themselves' to quote the coke head Ferdinand.

Doesn't matter who the next manager is/will be that man will be compared to Pep and they will fall short. They will never be successful enough to satisfy the unrealistic expectations of that bunch of inbreeds that pack into the swamp on a weekly basis.

I don't think a mamager would get away with the way Fergie behaved these days, both in terms of how he treated the players and the way he hounded and bullied officials.

We need to continue to enjoy their shitness and misery for as long as it lasts because they'll get their mojo back sooner or later with the right manager, unfortunately.

And I say 'misery'...it's all relative, isn't it-Ten Pence won them two bloody cups and that's two more than almost all of us have ever seen in our lifetimes,

I genuinely don't think they will 'get their mojo back' as you mention mate.

Everything is cyclical.

They've had their time in the sun and now it's over.

Rat-cliff is cutting the club to the bone. They'll start to skimp on the transfers in due course if his track record with the Swiss, French teams & his general approach to his other businesses, INEOS etc. The man has no interest other than to squeeze maximum profits out of his investments. A skinny sagging ball bag version of Fat Mike Ashley.

Nothing suggests that they'll return to being title contenders anytime soon. The new manager will get 18months, do well in the first season like Ten Pence, but then the 2nd season syndrome will get him. Big Ange is eating shyt right now. Maresca will eat it next season, so will Slott at Liverpool.

Those top clubs all judge themselves against City & Pep. Something that none of the clubs nor managers can compare with. However, Liverpool, Chelsea & Man Filth fans can not accept that.

Time will tell but I'm sceptical that they'll ever return former glories in the current competitive Premier climate.

I don’t think you can blame him for the demise. Love him or hate him, he was a brilliant manager who used all the tools available to him to win. Without him, Man U would be half the club they are now (or were, when he left). The ability to get the very best out of each of his players was a remarkable talent he had.
He did of course contribute greatly to the weight of expectation at OT today but I don’t think that can be held against him. He appears to have been the only capable person at the club and the glue that held everything together.

I wasn't blaming him for their demise T T rather than blaming him for not passing his tactics on to those following him as no one has been able command in the way he did.

But at the same time, as Zippity pointed out, would any manager get away with it these days. In the past I think there was only Bill Shankly remotely had that success followed by Bob Paisley but they did it in a nicer way.
