Announced today. 1.6m loss overall for the Championship season which of course was completely expected. Unexpectedly though it is massively less than what could have been expected for Championship Football. Off field though, massive restructuring has resulted in a much more efficient off field operation with streamlining now in place that with Premiership money/crowds and TV fees should see a return to profit idc.

Couple of points though - 84% reduction in ?Consultancy? fees from the previous season. Who the phuck was this going to? Big Fat Tone? Secondly, a lesson for the Chairman - maybe, just maybe, shelling out a little bit in the short term in January 2023 for a competent phucking goalkeeper may have saved long term losses. Just a thought.

If only Ogren had listened to the fans sooner to get Asghar and Bond out, could have been so different. Signing "international keepers" and breaking the wage structure for the star man Watt.

Living within your means is the best way to build a good team. Under Eddie money was thrown at players. It was only under Levein that the finances were brought under control thus resulting in a hungry team on the park. If we get a new owner at some point, please do not chuck money at the team to bring success, it rarely works and cannot be sustainable.

Headline aside, there are a good few positives in there when you see the proof of covered and some of the reductions, then add in the turnover for the year will likely be up above 8m again

Scandalous that he was able to run riot like that. Money for him and his cronies on the side with no benefit to the club.
Still a fair loss but accounts to me look far better than expected with us spending a season in the championship.
Good to see lessons have been learnt...at least for now.

The press are listing the loss as ?2.8 million but I've not had time to look at the accounts yet to see what the difference is from the 1.6 in Jamesy's OP

Yeh as per, the press are using the most negative headline they can. The 1.6m is the loss after transfer fess are taken in to account which last time I checked is income like any other leaving the true figure of 1.6m as listed in the accounts. For further info, these accounts will also NOT include the 1m sell on fee for Behich’s loan to Saudi either as that was January of 2024.

A very valid thought mate, we were all screaming it from the rooftops. But the American buffoon was very aloof at the time and said its fine we'll bounce straight back up. We did, but if he's at all upset about the latest financial report then I've got f*ck all sympathy for him.
