Swansea v QPR
Swans v QPR 26 Dec Boxing Day 15:00
Christmas is upon us once more, a time of celebration and good cheer.
Swans fans though are demoralised and still in shock after the start of the holiday season block of games couldn’t have got off to a worse start. Still smarting from the second-half collapse at home to high flyers Sunderland, where we threw away a 2-0 lead, little did we know there was worse to come.
Last Saturday we travelled to bottom of the table Hull, who hadn’t won for 13 games, and proceeded to put on a totally inept performance that was an embarrassment to our club and fans, gifting two goals and an unlikely win to Hull, who couldn’t believe their luck.
Moving on to the next match we are home to QPR. What an irony then, that after playing the worst team in the Championship we play the in-form team of the division. Fresh from their 2-1 win at home to Preston and seven games unbeaten, confidence will be high that they can continue Swansea’s misery and return to the capital with the three points.
With such a weak squad and an intense playing schedule we can only hope that the players selected for this next game at least put in the effort, something that was badly missing at Hull.

Swansea 3 (Cullen12’, 28’, Franco 33’) - QPR 0
Cullen with a brace and Franco’s first goal of the season gave us an unassailable lead by half-time, in what was a scintillating display of attacking football by the Swans.
Complete opposite to the Hull game and to many others this season where leads have been thrown away. This time there was no reversal second-half and not quite the dominance, if only we could play like this every week.
It’s been an uplifting of mood for the Jack Army the last few days after the doom and gloom of the Hull defeat. Cabango signing a new contract, the hint of new players to come in January and today the annihilation of the form team of the division. Please keep it up, and Darling - sign on the dotted line, you know it makes sense.

It’s a pity they can’t play like that first half for 90 mins every match. If we can bring in some players in the transfer window then substitutions could strengthen not weaken the team each game.
Anyway I can’t remember a game where we totally outplayed the opposition, maybe the West Brom one from some years back.

What a first half boys, the players answer to their no show last week at Hull. They passed QPR off the park and showed how good they really are. QPR were stunned into submission. They woke up a bit second-half but couldn’t score. I’m surprised they didn’t play Chair from the start, he is their main danger man on the wing and he looked good when he came on.
