Not at all! CC did an excellent job but doubt whether he could take us much further hence the points tally in his last 15 games and strange decisions. I wish him well.
I am of the view with any management change there should be a new coaching team and new ideas including potential new faces. We wouldn?t want another Cole or Dobbin would we!
I love Brunty but he should have been his own man and been brave - played those youngsters and not reverted to type with Wallace and Cole.
Big mistake!
PS - I wonder what Stats dictated bringing on Coke by Abella at Swansea. Awful decision and as Prando said - he knew the goal would be coming.
I think by now you all know my thinking on substitutions, only make them when and where necessary. By definition, if mass substitutions are made you are virtually playing with a different team and if these players are not selected in the original eleven there is a reason why. I will agree that making one or two changes can improve a side but changing so many often makes the side imbalanced and weaker.
The truth is, our first XI isn't too bad but after that our squad is poor. Our first XI when fit and firing are touching playoffs, perhaps a top 8 side. Yet, we are a bad injury to a couple of first teamers away from a very mediocre side in this league.
We are always going to be worse off when making subs because Wallace is a downgrade on Fellows, Grady is a downgrade on Johnston, Racic is a downgrade on Molumby/Mowatt, Cole is a downgrade on Maja....and so on, so on. So the options are to play our first XI exclusively every minute. Or try and rotate and keep some players fresh, particularly in busy periods like over Xmas.
I haven't had much of an issue with the subs this season, even though its cost us points. My issue is the substitutes in the squad just aren't good enough.
