That would mean a 36 game season. Whereas a league of 16 would mean 30 games allowing the spare 6 dates for internationals etc
At present we have a league that hinders young player development due to teams trying from day one to avoid relegation. The league over the years as become more and more boring and stifling as teams face each other at least three times. A league of 16 IMO would probably not suit the TV companies or the Glasgow two who obviously don’t want to split the money available between more clubs. But I believe it would create an opportunity for more young players to be given first team experience and would eventually make the league a better football league for all concerned
